Music Journal

Welcome to my mind! I have made a decision that I will be posting consistently about new music that I find. Big things will be on YouTube or I will Blog about it, this is just for the little stuff. Sometimes I really need to share a song and this is where I am going to do it. I hope you’re okay with that!

I’ve been listening to the new Jonas Brothers album over and over, but there is one single that I can’t get out of my head; ‘I Think I’m Okay’ by Machine Gun Kelly, YUNGBLUD & Travis Barker. If you haven’t heard it yet, you should check it out ASAP (link is below). It’s an anthem for our generation and should be played everywhere at anytime.

SUPER STOKED about the new article I’m about to post. It’s about the Jonas Brothers new album and how amazing I think it is… Because well, it is. It’s perfect.

It’s probably the best album they’ve ever released, besides ‘Lines, Vines, and Trying Times’. I can’t wait to share it with you!

Okay, so I don’t know if this happens to anyone else, but at least once a day I get a random Disney song stuck in my head for literally NO REASON. And half the time it’s the same goddamn song… ‘Bring Honor to Us All’ from Mulan. Like I’ll just be sitting there minding my own business and I’ll start humming it out of nowhere. Not that I’m complaining… I LOVE that movie and the soundtrack is phenomenal.

A couple other songs I get stuck in my head are ‘Reflection’ (Mulan), ‘Mad Maddam Mim’ (The Sword in the Stone), ‘Part of Your World’ (The Little Mermaid), ‘You’ve Got A Friend in Me’ (Toy Story), annndd last but not least ‘When She Loved Me’ (Toy Story 2).

That last one is weird, isn’t it? What a song to get stuck in your head, that’s like one of the saddest parts of the movie. I mean, Jessie is so vulnerable and ugh, it gets me every time. But the song is so beautiful, I love it.

So, it’s been a while. Which I have accidentally made a habit, one that I want to break. And I’ve probably said that before, I say things all the time without following through… It’s one of the many things this slump has taken away from me – my motivation to do things. I go through phases. One day I want to do everything and then the next day I don’t want to do anything… It’s a vicious fucking cycle. But I am determined to break it. I want to make something of myself and that starts with going back to doing the things that I love. Without going on hiatuses. NO MORE HIATUSES!

I will be publishing a new article next week, so that is exciting. It’s featuring my friend Nathan, whom I met on Twitter back in 2016 when I first started my blog. He was one of the very first people to DM me saying that my articles were good – we have been friends ever since. We are shipmates actually. It’s an inside joke; we talked about getting a boat and traveling, we said we would name it “HMS Hipster“… “Her Majesty’s Ship” and then Hipster is just because we thought we were super cool haha.

Anyway, the article is going to be about our favorite songs in 2019 so far. Just a few from each of us and a little blurb about them. I will be doing a That Music Chick’s first YouTube video within the next few weeks, that will be something very similar – just with more songs, so this is basically like a sneak peak!

I can’t wait to get back into the swings of things and I can’t wait to take everyone on this adventure with me. Keep a look out for the article!
